Puran Dhaka Mughlai — kacchi, tehari, and royal rezala
My Story
Twenty-six years have passed since then, and that same aroma still fills my kitchen in old Dhaka every Friday. My bhuna khichuri has become the neighborhood favorite during monsoons, and my kacchi biryani draws relatives from across the city for special occasions. But what brings me the greatest joy is watching my daughter-in-law now, her eyes wide with concentration as I show her how to layer the rice just so, how to seal the pot with dough to trap all those precious flavors.
Cooking isn't just about feeding bellies here—it's about carrying forward the tastes our grandmothers knew, the recipes whispered from mother to daughter. Every grain of basmati tells a story, every pinch of garam masala holds memories of celebrations and quiet family dinners alike.
